Homemade Pistachio Latte with Real Pistachio Syrup (Hot or Iced)

Ingredients

Pistachio Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup shelled roasted unsalted pistachios
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Latte (1 serving)

  • 1 ounce pistachio syrup
  • 6 ounces milk
  • 2 shots espresso
  • Optional cold foam
  • Optional pistachio cream

Instructions

Make the Syrup

  • Add sugar, pistachios, and water to a saucepan.
  • Simmer 20 minutes.
  • Cool slightly.
  • Blend 2 minutes until smooth.
  • Strain through fine mesh strainer.
  • Stir in vanilla.
  • Store in fridge.

Hot Latte

  • Brew espresso.
  • Stir in syrup.
  • Steam milk and pour over.
  • Add foam if desired.

Iced Latte

  • Fill glass with ice.
  • Add syrup.
  • Pour milk over.
  • Add espresso.
  • Stir and top with foam.

Store syrup in refrigerator up to 3 weeks. Shake before using.
